Author Guidelines

Nurse Professional Education Journal (NurseEdu) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal that publishes high-quality scientific articles in nursing. Authors must follow the submission guidelines below to ensure a smooth and standardized editorial process.

Manuscript Types

  • Original Research Articles (max. 12 pages)
  • Systematic or Literature Reviews (max. 16 pages)
  • Case Studies
  • Meta-analyses. All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

Language and Formatting

  • Manuscripts must be written in academic English with clear grammar and structure.
  • Use Times New Roman, 11 pt, single-spaced, justified.
  • Format: A4 size, single-column layout.
  • Margins: 2.5 cm (left); 2.0 cm (top, right, bottom).
  • Use the official NurseEdu manuscript template (available on the journal website).
  • Headings follow a numeric system (1., 2., 2.1, etc.) with Title Case and bold.

Manuscript Structure

All manuscripts must follow the IMRaD format:

  • Title Page: 15 words, TNR 16 pt, Bold, Align Left
  • Author Information: Full names, affiliations, ORCID ID; corresponding author with email
  • Abstract: 150–250 words, single paragraph, structured (Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion)
  • Keywords: Five (5) specific terms, separated by commas
  • Main Sections:
    1. Introduction
    2. Method (including design, instruments, participants, data analysis, ethics)
    3. Results and Discussion
    4. Conclusion
  • Acknowledgements (if any)
  • Conflict of Interest
  • References

Tables, Figures, and Equations

  • Embed tables and figures directly within the manuscript (not as images).
  • Use high-resolution (min. 300 dpi) for figures.
  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively with clear captions.
  • Use MS Equation Editor or MathType for equations; number equations consecutively.
  • All data presented in tables/figures must be referred to in the text.

Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving human participants must obtain ethical approval (state institution and approval number).
  • Informed consent must be documented.
  • Ethical compliance should follow the Declaration of Helsinki or local standards.
  • Clinical trials must be registered in a recognized registry.

Reference Guidelines

  • Use APA 7th Edition referencing style.
  • Minimum: 25 references (original articles), 50 (reviews).
  • At least 80% must be from peer-reviewed journals published in the last 5–10 years.
  • Use reference management tools like Mendeley or Zotero.
  • All references must be cited in-text and listed alphabetically in the reference section.

Submission and Review Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal's online submission system.
  • All articles undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
  • The review process typically takes 4–6 weeks.
  • No submission or publication fees (free of APCs).

Plagiarism Policy

NurseEdu enforces a strict anti-plagiarism policy. All submissions will be screened using plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin). Manuscripts with more than 25% similarity will be automatically rejected.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.
