Publication Ethics

Nurse Professional Education Journal (NurseEdu) adheres to the ethical standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing. All parties involved — editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers — must act ethically and responsibly throughout publication.

Duties of Editors

  • Decision Making: Editors decide which submitted articles should be published based on academic merit, originality, relevance, and ethical standards.
  • Fair Review: Editors evaluate manuscripts objectively, without discrimination based on race, gender, religious belief, or institutional affiliation.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose any information to parties other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or editorial board members.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and not shared without authorization.
  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing clear and constructive feedback to improve the manuscript's quality.
  • Promptness: Reviewers must notify the editors if they cannot complete a review within the expected timeframe.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest affecting their review objectivity.

Duties of Authors

  • Originality: Authors must ensure their works are original and cite or quote others' work appropriately.
  • Data Accuracy: Authors must present accurate data and sufficient details to allow others to replicate the study.
  • Plagiarism: Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will result in immediate rejection or retraction.
  • Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
  • Authorship: Only those who have contributed significantly to the research and manuscript should be listed as authors.
  • Disclosure: Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could affect the interpretation of their work.

Duties of the Publisher

  • Editorial Independence: The Kadewaguru Foundation, as a publisher, respects editorial autonomy and integrity without interfering with editorial decisions.
  • Integrity Promotion: The publisher ensures that ethical publishing practices are upheld and supports transparency and integrity throughout publication.
  • Handling Misconduct: In cases of alleged or proven misconduct, such as plagiarism or data falsification, the publisher will work closely with the editors to take appropriate action, including corrections, retractions, or other appropriate measures.

Plagiarism and Retraction Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using reliable detection software (e.g., Turnitin). Manuscripts with more than 25% similarity will be automatically rejected. Articles found to involve unethical behavior after publication will be retracted according to COPE Retraction Guidelines.
