Author Guidelines

EduMAJ publishes scholarly works that contribute to the advancement of education through empirical inquiry, theoretical development, policy analysis, and innovative practices across diverse educational contexts. EduMAJ welcomes manuscripts that address, but are not limited to, the following areas: educational leadership and governance, educational management and administration, curriculum and pedagogy, learning and assessment, digital and innovative learning, educational policy and reform, equity and inclusion, professional development, and global or comparative education.

General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in English, original, and not under review or previously published
  • Submissions must align with the aims and scope of EduMAJ and demonstrate clear theoretical, empirical, methodological, or practical contributions.
  • Authors must prepare manuscripts using the official EduMAJ Manuscript Template (2026 version) available on the journal website.
  • All submissions are subject to editorial screening prior to peer review.

Manuscript Types and Length

  • Original Research Articles: maximum 12 pages, including references, tables, and figures.
  • Review, Conceptual, or Policy Analysis Papers: maximum 16 pages, including references.
  • EduMAJ accepts quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, systematic reviews, conceptual papers, case studies, and policy analyses.

Manuscript Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word
  • Paper size: A4
  • Layout: Single column, single spacing
  • Font: Times New Roman, 11 pt, fully justified
  • Margins: 5 cm (left); 2.0 cm (top, bottom, right)
  • Page numbers, headers, and footers must not be included
  • Section headings must be numbered and written in sentence case (e.g., Introduction; 2. Method)

Manuscript Structure

Title

  • Concise, specific, and informative
  • Maximum 15 words
  • Written in sentence case
  • Avoid abbreviations, jargon, or rhetorical phrasing

Author Information

  • Full names without academic titles
  • Institutional affiliation (department, institution, city, country)
  • ORCID iD for each author (hyperlinked using the official ORCID icon)
  • Corresponding author marked with an asterisk (*); only this author’s email address should be provided

Abstract

  • 150–250 words, single paragraph
  • Self-contained and written without citations or abbreviations
  • Should briefly present:
    • educational context or problem,
    • objective or analytical focus,
    • approach or method,
    • key findings or arguments,
    • implications for the advancement of education

Keywords

  • Exactly five keywords
  • Lowercase, comma-separated
  • Specific and searchable (avoid generic terms such as “education” or “study”)

Main Text Structure

  1. Introduction
  2. Method (with subsections as appropriate)
  3. Results and Discussion (3.1 Results; 3.2 Discussion)
  4. Conclusion

Additional sections when applicable:

  • Acknowledgments
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Ethical Considerations
  • References

References

  • Use the APA 7th Edition referencing style consistently
  • All references must be directly cited in the text
  • Minimum 25 references for original research articles
  • Minimum 50 references for review or conceptual papers
  • At least 80% of references must be from peer-reviewed journals published within the last 5–10 years
  • A maximum of 20% may include books or book chapters from reputable publishers
  • Include DOIs for journal articles when available
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote)
  • Non-scholarly or unreliable sources (e.g., blogs, Wikipedia, predatory journals) must not be cited.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables must be created using the Word table function, numbered consecutively, with titles placed above
  • Figures must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi), clearly labeled, and placed near their first mention.
  • Figure captions must be placed below
  • Editable formats are preferred when possible

Ethical Considerations

  • Studies involving human participants or sensitive data must state the ethical approval, including the name of the institution and the approval number.
  • Authors must describe the procedures for obtaining informed consent, confidentiality measures, and the ethical safeguards in place.

Plagiarism Policy

  • All submissions are screened using Turnitin or comparable software
  • A similarity index exceeding 25% (excluding references and standard phrases) may result in revision or rejection
  • Authors are fully responsible for originality and proper citation

Conflict of Interest

  • Authors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest
  • If none exist, include the statement: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright
  • All published articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the EduMAJ online submission system
  • Authors must complete the five-step submission process in OJS
  • Only manuscripts that fully comply with these Author Guidelines and the EduMAJ template will proceed to peer review
